Why the classical guitar?

The classical guitar is undoubtedly one of the most romantic instruments there is, and therefore especially suited for use at a wedding function. Few instruments have such a sweet tone, broad range and versatile repertoire – plus it’s very portable and trouble-free! Because I am a solo artist, my rates and expenses are also more reasonable.

How would it work?

Because a wedding is such an important day, I like to take a little time talking over your individual requirements (everyone is different!), so that I can put together a programme that fits you like a glove. With music at my disposal from Elizabethan lute music, to arrangements of modern indie songs, I’m confident I can deliver the perfect performance for you. With my carefully classified subdivisions of repertoire, we can put together a programme with a very specific theme (especially useful if the wedding has a theme) or just go for a general mix of mood music. The main thing is you can be involved as much or as little as you want – either make sure yourself, or leave it in my capable hands.

For an extra special moment, I can be commissioned to prepare a solo guitar arrangement of a song or piece of music that is particularly meaningful to you. Anything really is possible! I have been known to arrange music from Cole Porter to Iggy Pop!

I am available for bookings in the day or night, weekend or weekday, and can provide music for a variety of situations during your special day. I can play...

Hear ‘your song’ performed

For a small supplemental fee to be added to your booking cost, I can arrange and perform any song or piece of music you would like specially for you (although I may draw the line at ‘Especially for You’ by Kylie and Jason). However weird and wacky your request, I will not only write a one-off version, but present you with a copy of the score. This is an opportunity to have something really individual, unusual and - more importantly - special - at your wedding.

Write your partner a love song!

Nothing says ‘i love you’ quite like writing someone a song for your special day. I can collaborate with you to devise and compose a song to sum up just how important your partner is to you. Again, this is booked as a supplement, and comes with a recording and copy of the original music (you even get a share of the royalties if and when the song becomes a number one hit!)
