March 2010: A New Guitar Society for Liverpool!
I started up the new Liverpool Guitar Society this year, as an organisation to encourage, promote and raise the profile of the Classical Guitar on Merseyside.
We meet every two weeks at Liverpool Hope University, from 7-9pm on Thursdays, and we run a range a guitar-related activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
We are looking for Merseyside based players and enthusiasts of the Classical Guitar to join us in this exciting venture, so please do get in touch if you're interested!
The society is...
- The only in Merseyside, and a mecca for classical guitarists in the area.
- An inclusive, friendly, welcoming and safe environment for guitarists to meet other like-minded musicians.
- A place where guitarists can perform solo and in ensembles, and get involved in public performances in a guitar ensemble
- Somewhere to get support, encouragement and help from peers, and access the shared skills and experience of members.
- A forum for regular events, including visiting performances, masterclasses, seminars, workshops and parties.
Please email me on info@liverpoolguitar.org if you would like to know more, and if you are interested in getting involved...
January 2010: Scott Blogs!
Watch this space, or perhaps that one, for new blog and twitter activity. I've decided to join the rest of the webly-wise world in a bid to have more contact with my current and prospective students, as well as get more involved in musical activities in general. See the links over on the right to visit me on Wordpress (where I put most of my news and thoughts) Twitter (where I twitter on about allsorts, but mostly music) and Myspace (where I don'e do much except deny friend requests from pub rock bands)
I am now taking bookings for functions in Autumn/Winter2010, and I have introduced some new offers for wedding packages. See my Performance page for more info...
